Purpose of the Chicago Initiative

 

Ignite wants to start churches in the city of Chicago that will bring the hope of Jesus to people.

 

The Plan

 

2023 – Beta Stage

We are working with different groups in the city (in different neighborhoods) to plant micro churches. Our first church plant will be with a group of Ecuadorians who live on the north side of Chicago. We continue to meet with people of peace in Chicago and will prayer walk as we look for receptive people and places to start future churches.

2024 – 2025 – Calibration Stage

Plans will be to train and mobilize more church planters in areas of receptivity.

​

2026 – 2030 – Multiplication Stage

Continue to discover, train and deploy more church planters across the city.

People Groups we are praying for:

 

College Students 

There are over 600,000 college students in Chicagoland. This group contains two areas of focus: Domestic students / International students.

 

Singles

It is estimated that about 60% of the 18 – 44 year old population group in the city is single. This equates to 660,000 people.

 

Hispanic

Many of the neighborhoods listed have highly Hispanic populations, there are over 1.2 million people of Hispanic descent in Cook County, IL.

What is Ignite looking for?

​

We are looking for people who want to bring hope to the city of Chicago. Do you know people in and from the city of Chicago? We need help connecting with people who can open doors of relationship and partnership for Ignite. Here are a couple of the ways you can help:

​

• People of peace in the city – do you know people who could be connectors for us in different neighborhoods and with different people groups.

​​

• Potential church planters – do you know someone who grew up in these areas or feel a burden to reach these people groups?

​​

• Prayer partners – we want people to help us prepare the ground in these area through prayer.

​
