Dear Prayer and Fasting Partners,
I wanted to thank you for your prayers for our churches during the Easter season. Lifeline in Algonquin had over 150 come to the Easter service and The Anchor had over 110 in their services. Both places were packed to capacity and I know that your prayers made a positive difference. Impact Christian Church in Merrillville had 6 baptisms on Easter and Adventure in Bradley has had almost 20 people baptized into Christ since Easter weekend. Thank you for the prayers you have been lifting up for our new churches and for the work of Ignite. Here are some of the things I’d like you to pray about this month:
Journey Christian Church (Elmhurst, IL): On May 6, Steve Baker is going to host the first public informational meeting about the new church. He has invited over 50 people to this event that will begin to lay the foundation for possible launch team members. I’d like you to pray about this and for the work taking place in Elmhurst.
Discovery Lab, June 12 – 14: We have a Discovery Lab for Assessment set up in June and are still looking for a couple of additional couples for this event. Pray that God sends us some potential planters or partners looking for a place that will assess people they are considering for a church plant.
Part-Time C.O.O.: Chuck Richardson recently retired from full-time ministry with First Christian Church, Morris, IL. I spent time talking with Chuck about his next chapter in ministry and he has agreed to serve part-time in the Operations role for Ignite. His role will be helping determine ways we can become more effective and plant more churches. He will also be helping develop key partnerships as we move forward. Please pray for Chuck in this new role.
Partner / Donor Development: I will be talking to more potential partner church ministers and individual donors this month. Please pray that God leads me to people who will be interested in helping us start more churches in Chicagoland. (I had several good initial meetings with leaders in April and will look forward to seeing what God does with these moving forward.)
Ignite Constitutional Changes: We will be sending out ballots for the new structural changes to our constituents in May. Please pray for this process and for the people who will be a part of this new structure.
